There Must Be More

Updated: Mar 4

Have you ever thought to yourself, "there must be more than this?" Maybe some time ago when you felt you were in a barrage of unending problems. Or contrarily, you felt situations were going pretty favorably for you but deep inside of you, there was a still small voice that said, "there must be more."

I would submit to you, that there's more that God has for you and he has called the Church to more than we currently know.

Two Schools of Thought

There are two schools of thought that you find today in the Church. Some Christians are in one school of thought while some groups subscribe to both. Let's take a look at them.

Fighting the Devil

Some Christians belong to the school of thought that says Jesus defeated the devil, although, Satan has not accepted his defeat. Therefore, it's the job of Christians to keep fighting the devil until we win. If it's our job to fight the devil, that old serpent, then why did Jesus die at the cross? God was manifested in the flesh, in the fullness of time, he died for our sins and tasted death for us. The creation crucified the Creator.

Did all of that happen only for us to be left fighting the devil? Was the sacrifice of Jesus Christ insufficient? That would make the cross a terrible waste.

Yet the cross was not a waste. Jesus Christ did a thorough work in putting away our sins and in defeating the devil.

Hebrews 9:26 KJV - "For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."

Hebrews 2:14 KJV - "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"

This was the plan of God, for God to be manifested as a man, in order to inhabit man; that man can once again be like God.

Waiting for a Rapture

The problem is we don't recognize the difference between darkness and the serpent. We lump it all together. The second school of thought is those who think the gospel is Jesus dying for good people and not for all people. And those good people after conversion must now live squeaky clean and perfectly holy to be allowed into heaven after death or to be raptured away to another planet.

The problem with this way of thinking is that the Bible doesn't say any of this.

What then is the message of the Bible? To understand the Bible, you must read the volume of the Book.

Hebrews 10:7 KJV - "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God."

Let's start from the beginning.

John 1:1 KJV - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

This beginning was before creation, before time; you have a dividing that happened where the Spirit of the Son came out of the bosom of the Father and now God is with God (John 1:18).

This verse is the actual, first chronological verse in the Bible.

How did we get the book of Genesis?

It's a vision Moses received when he was on a mountain with God at Horeb and he asked to see God's glory.

Exodus 33:18 KJV - "And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory."

Exodus 33:19 KJV - "And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy."

The next chronological verse is Genesis 1:1 in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Heaven is the throne room. There were two of them, two means agreement.

Isaiah 66:1 Heaven is my throne

Isaiah 66:1 KJV - "Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?"

Heaven and earth is a circle within a circle heaven is not God's dwelling place heaven is not eternal God's dwelling place is above the heavens.

1 Kings 8:27 KJV - "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?"

Psalm 8:1 KJV - "To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens."

“In the beginning” is a word that means “before time” or “the principle thing” or the “floor plan of time” notice in Genesis 1:2 that darkness was already there and it's not the serpent.

We don't know where darkness came from.

The Seven Days

Genesis 1:3 God said let there be light and he separated the light from the darkness. He didn't destroy the darkness he just separated it.

On Day 1, the light he called Day. Light Day was a realm where everything was created perfect. It was the day of creation or the “day of perfection”

Day 2, he separated waters from waters and set a firmament between them and called that firmament heaven. This is the second time he mentions heaven.

Day 3, he made the dry land, the seas and the trees notice that there was no photosynthesis happening because he had not yet made the sun. The trees existed because there was Light life before there was sun light.

Day 4, he said let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven. This is the third time he mentions heaven. And he said they will be for signs, seasons, days, and years. This is where he created time but time didn't start, this was simply a guarantee.

Day 5 he made the fish and the birds.

Day 6 he made the cattle. Then he said let us make man in our image after our likeness.

God and his Spirit were in agreement to make man and he wanted man to have dominion on the earth. He said it was very good.

On the 7th day God rested. Genesis 2 details how God made everything in Light Day. as mentioned in Genesis.

Genesis 2:4 KJV - "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,"

Genesis 2:4 shows us that these seven days are generations, cycles, periods of the heavens and the earth. They are not 24-hour days.

Every world

Why does he mention heaven in the plural? Because in God's language every world is made up of a heaven and the earth or above and beneath realm.

The Garden

Genesis 2:8 He made a garden, eastward in Eden.

Garden means bride, eastward means first, Eden means pleasure.

Genesis 2:10 there was a river (which means the flowing of provision)that watered the garden it flowed from this realm of perfection.

Genesis 2:17 God gave man a commandment not a choice you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for in that day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

And that's what we find ourselves in. We find ourselves in time which is a day of death.

You will notice that in Genesis 1 every day had a pattern of evening, morning, and a day then that day was complete. Time is a day that also has an evening, a morning, and then the day.

The Battle for Seed

Genesis 1 gives us the template or the blueprint for time.

In Genesis 3 Adam was disobedient and God said I’ll put enmity between the woman and the serpent and between the woman seed and the serpent seed

A woman doesn't have seed!

This is talking about Israel and Jesus.

Galatians 4:4

Galatians 4:4 KJV - "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,"

Time has a beginning, a middle (or fullness) and an end.

God sent his Son born of a woman born under the law.

Galatians 4 says the law was also a woman.

In genesis 3:15 There is a battle for seed and he says the seed will bruise the serpent's head and the serpent will bruise his heel.

Already we see the plan of God foreshadowed.

And when was this fulfilled? The night Jesus was betrayed.

John 13:18 KJV - "I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me."

John 13:26 KJV - "Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon."

John 13:27 KJV - "And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly."

This was for referring to Judas Iscariot in verse 27 Satan entered him and he went out immediately.

Genesis 3 the ground is now cursed

Genesis 4 when Cain killed Abel he opened the door to death.

Genesis 4:25 God gave Adam another seed in Seth and these were the sons of God.

When the sons of God (Seth's seedline) went into the daughters of men, Cain’s seedline, man's wickedness increased on the earth and we understand why God destroyed the first world (Adam's generation) with water.

God’s Spirit will not always strive with man

Genesis 6:3 KJV - "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."

God said his Spirit would not always strive with man from the outside. God initiated a plan to get his Spirit on the inside of man.

Noah’s generation

God started over with a man called Noah who found grace and was righteous in his generation.

Noah means rest and the mountain upon which the ark rested was called Ararat which means the curse is reversed.

2 Peter 3:3 KJV - "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,"

2 Peter 3:4 KJV - "And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

2 Peter 3:5 KJV - "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:"

2 Peter 3:6 KJV - "Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:"

2 Peter 3:7 KJV - "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

2 Peter 3:8 KJV - "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

The first world was destroyed by water the 2nd world, the Law world was reserved unto fire.

Verse 8 says with the Lord a day is as a 1000 years.

Time is comprised of 7 spiritual days that work out as approximately 1000 years each. It also has 4 generations Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Christ, which is the final generation.

You also have the 1st man and the 2nd man.

You have the 1st death and the 2nd death and the cross is the dividing line between the two.

Hebrews 1:1 KJV - "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,"

Hebrews 1:2 KJV - "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph are the fathers and the foundation stones of the 2nd world through which God prepared a body for himself.

Last days here and in 2 Peter 3 refers to that period of time from the cross to the destruction and desolation of Jerusalem.

Back to Noah God wanted to make his covenant with him but Noah revealed his nakedness (Genesis 9:20-2).

Many people misunderstand God because they’re trying to interpret God through their earthly experiences and that's very dangerous. Imagine trying to interpret a perfect God through an imperfect creation; it can never work. Yet this is what many Christians are doing.

That's why God gave us his Spirit, which is the mind of God, and the written Word, the purposes of God (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). We must rightly divide the Word and learn the language of the Spirit (2 Timothy 2:15).

God finds Abraham, the obedient man who represents the ox in Ezekiel’s vision in Ezekiel 1.

Genesis 17:7 KJV - "And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee."

In Genesis 17:7, God makes his covenant between himself and Abraham and there was a division of Abraham’s seed line between a singular, spiritual seed line and an earthly generational seed line.

Here we see the spiritual seed line being formed.

Moses and the Law

God chose a nation Israel.

Moses whose name means drawn from water was called in front of fire a burning bush that was not consumed.

Water and fire are life-giving elements. They’re also the destructive elements that took out the first world and the second world.

Moses was called in order to lead these people, Israel.

On the mount of God, Moses received the commands of life, but Israel didn't keep them.

When the Law was added

Galatians 3:24 KJV - "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."

The Law was added as a schoolmaster to Christ, it’s no surprise that they didn't keep the Law either.

Israel carried the testimony of Jesus

Though it contained the testimony of Jesus. In the ark of the testimony was contained the pot of manna, the staff of Aaron that budded, and the commandments written on tablets of stone.

All three were testifying of life, life and life.

The Tabernacle had a gate, a door and a veil which corresponds to what Jesus said about himself: I am the way, the truth and the life( John 14:6).

The prophets were added

Israel didn't keep the Law so the prophets were added to warn them of being sent into captivity, to warn them about the cross, and to warn them about their final destruction and removal.

In Deuteronomy 32, Moses sang Israel a song about their latter end and destruction.

Revelation 15:3 KJV - "And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints."

It was also revealed in Revelation 15:3 and it was finally fulfilled in 70AD at the Siege of Jerusalem.

After the prophet Malachi, there were 400 years of silence until John the Baptist came preaching the Kingdom with a baptism of repentance.

Jesus came to his own but they did not receive him (John 1:11). Instead they allied with Rome, the kingdoms of this world to crucify the Christ.

Psalm 2:1 KJV - "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?"

Psalm 2:2 KJV - "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,"

At Jesus's baptism, the heavens opened and he became the Christ when the Spirit descended upon him like a dove (Matthew 3:16).

The purpose of this body called Jesus was for the Spirit to dwell inside a man.

At the cross, Jesus gave up the ghost (Matthew 27:50) but the Spirit never left the earth.

After his resurrection, Jesus blew on his disciples and started the second generation man that can have the Spirit of God on the inside (John 20:20).

The spiritual man is not first but the natural man is first.

1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV - "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit."

1 Corinthians 15:46 KJV - "Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual."

For the believer Christ is in our hearts, a quickening spirit, but our souls are not yet saved.

1 Peter 1:9 KJV - "Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

Our minds must be renewed (Ephesians 4:23, Romans 8:7).

At the cross, Satan was cast out of heaven to the earth. He had great wrath because he had a short time (Revelation 12).

Revelation 20:10 says The dragon, the beast (the kingdoms of the world) and the false prophet (Israel, the Law) were thrown into the lake of fire.

Then Death and Hell were also thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14).

What are we left with?

We are left with darkness in the fallen creation. We are left with a day of death where the body of Christ must grow into the fullness of the statue of Christ.

We cannot stay in ourselves, in our own wills.

We must step into him by fully surrendering to God's will in order to reign in the kingdom of God.

Christ is the place that God prepared for us.

Jesus Christ brought us the kingdom of heaven and we must enter it in order to go on to possess the kingdom. This is God's ultimate plan to get us back into the perfection God created in the beginning.
